About Aiken State Park

Aiken State Park sits on the South Edisto River, and its 1.7-mile paddling trail on the river's south fork is the main draw for canoes and kayaks. Two Civilian Conservation Corps companies built the park in the Depression, one of them an African American unit, and some of their structures still stand.
