  • The City of Beaufort announced on June 29, 2025 that an approximately 40-foot-wide section of Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park would close effective Monday, June 30, 2025; the day dock and playground were also off limits until further notice. source
  • A City of Beaufort notice posted July 2, 2025 (shown as archived) says the outer waterfront promenade platform was closed because supporting piles were deteriorating, while the rest of the park, including green spaces, playgrounds and pavilions, stayed open; engineers found no structural dangers in the open areas. source
