About South Carolina State Fairgrounds
The South Carolina State Fairgrounds on Rosewood Drive in Columbia have hosted the annual South Carolina State Fair since 1904; the fair is run by a private nonprofit, the State Agricultural and Mechanical Society of South Carolina, founded in 1869. The grounds also hold shows such as the Craftsman's Classic, the Home and Garden Show and the Palmetto Sportsmen's Classic, and serve as tailgate parking for USC home football games.
