Food And Drink › Barbecue › Where To Eat Barbecue

Short answer: 22 South Carolina barbecue places, grouped by the sauce of their region (mustard, vinegar and pepper, tomato) plus newer styles, each linked to its own website with the days and hours it printed on November 4, 2026.

How we checked: each place’s own website for its address, hours and style words, and the state tourism office’s SC BBQ Trail and barbecue articles. All read on November 4, 2026. Hours, prices and dates change, so confirm with the place or organizer before you drive. Anything we could not read is marked Not confirmed where it appears. Map pins come from OpenStreetMap searches of each printed address, or the US Census Bureau address geocoder where OpenStreetMap found none. We rank nothing: no source we used ranks these places, and we did not taste, rate or compare them. Nobody paid to be listed.

Use this list with the sauce region page. Groups follow the region where SC PRT places each sauce; SC PRT also says many places now serve several sauces, so a place’s own words win where it gives them. We have not been to these places and we rank nothing.

The SC BBQ Trail

The state tourism office (SC PRT) publishes the SC BBQ Trail: more than 220 restaurants split into Mountains, Midlands and Coastal trails, with a free downloadable map. We read the digital trail map itself; it prints no edition year and its file is dated February 10, 2025. Every place listed on this page is on that map. We give hours only for places whose own website we could read today: 22 are below. List last checked November 4, 2026.
