What We Could Not Confirm

Not confirmed: we looked for these on official pages and did not find them. Check with the town or operator before you rely on them.

  • Dog hours conflict: surfsidebeach.org Beaches page = restricted 10 a.m.-5 p.m. May 1-Labor Day; visitsurfsidebeach.com = sunrise-9:00 AM and 5:00 PM-sunset in summer. A WBTW news report (not read, not primary) mentioned a past council vote; used the town page. Fine amounts not found.
  • Parking: visitsurfsidebeach.com says street parking along Ocean Boulevard and near accesses is free year-round and a paid lot is near the pier in peak season, which conflicts with the town's Parking page (paid lots March 1 – October 31). The town page is used.
  • Town Hall address: 210 Highway 17 S (town pages) vs 115 Hwy 17 N (visitor site); visitor center hours not found.
  • Lifeguard hours of the day were not found; only the station list and mid-June to mid-August season.
  • Official pier street address not on the page (the page lists the Town Hall address).
  • Visit Surfside Beach is town-credited visitor site (footer credits Town of Surfside Beach); its listings give no hours or prices.
  • Autism-friendly certification: town says Autism-friendly; certifying body not read.
